To sum up my experience, the only thing that keeps coming to mind is lifesaving. You saved my life. I have been able to learn techniques to help me process my grief in a healthy way. I am learning my voice and how to stand up for myself. You have helped me to start my journey to self healing and finding what truly makes me happy.”

I want to express my deep gratitude. Dr. Ha not only identified that I was in a mental health crisis, but also gave me a comprehensive diagnosis, some of which had been previously overlooked by other doctors. Moreover, his insistence on treatment was decisive and a life-saving intervention. I am immensely thankful for his attentiveness and professionalism, which went above and beyond my expectations. His dedication to patient care and safety is truly commendable.”

I spent so much of my time in the glass half-empty category to the point that when I feel the opposite, it was so rare as to be almost physically palpable. I confess that my preconceptions regarding psychiatry were somewhat jaded by past experience. I have been diagnosed as alternately depressed or bipolar. I have been on some regimen of anti-depressant medication since my divorce.  However, I would characterize my previous experiences with psychiatrists as brief and clinical, more focused on the effect of my current level and brand of medication than on the root causes of my problems. I recognized very early on that Dr. Ha was taking a different approach. The long process of getting to where I am now has been a combination of many things. I would predominantly attribute this to a more humane set of expectations for myself and others. This has been liberating and has allowed me to accept the shortcomings of myself and those I love the most. I do not consciously dwell on how full my cup is anymore. I do not continually ruminate on what I or others did or did not do right at night.”

Therapy has been helpful to me over these past couple of years with Dr. Ha through a number of ways. He has taken time to really deep dive into how and why I am the way I am, and do the things I do. We explored my childhood to identify deep rooted trauma and triggers. Identifying my main triggers has been helpful because I am aware of when and why they’re happening, and have learned how to better cope through them by remembering my needs in those moments. Overall, I have improved a lot, therefore improving my quality of life. I am eight months sober, have healthier relationships, am engaged now, and plan to continue therapy and working on my skills. Thank you.”
